There are ways to measure how well a person can do this: one example could be to give them an ordinary object, a paper clip, along with 60 seconds to come up with all the different purposes of that object. It is also the potential to act freely outside of a set way to do something. This potential includes the capacity to regard the world this way has great importance– it can provide a new and unique outlook on problems like health care, peace in Afghanistan, and how to save the Gulf of Mexico. However, the number of people with this ability is rapidly declining, so a solution is needed now. Since teaching the knowledge along with preparing students for their future careers and lives is the purpose of school, it would be a favorable idea to form a class to help cultivate this ability in students.

There are multiple studies on how creativity helps improve a student’s mind. Project based learning is a huge creative booster for students. A math teacher from California uses projects to do math instead of using the text book. From doing this, she’s had more students pass her class then from when she was teaching straight from the text books. Instead of having standardized tests, using more creative techniques for students to enjoy the learning they’ve done and for them to show the higher officials what the students are learning. Creativity is the process of turning real world problems into an understanding by extending the minds cognitive processes. In Alabama, kindergartners are studying different ways to be creative.

After learning so much about diversity in my Cultural pluralism class, I know that learning and utilizing multicultural skills will come very easy to me. I have always been the type of person who is very open minded and understanding to others and their differences. Throughout my life I am usually the person that everyone comes to and confides in about personal matters they may be dealing with before opening up to anyone else about them.

To conclude, creativity appears to be a general term. It's meaning differs from one person to another. Therefore, the question of "do schools kill creativity?" remains unrevealed. Some think that schools do kill creativity and others don’t, and the answers are based on the individual's idea about creativity. In 2012, projections were released that by the end of this decade, no single racial or ethnic group will constitute a majority of children under 18. The increase in classroom diversity has continued to be in the forefront of not only in regular education settings but also in the church classroom settings across America. Of course, living in California we have one of the highest percentages of multi-ethnic student classrooms along with the most crucial of problems when it comes to multilanguage households. For example in Northern California where I live, as well as Southern California- Los Angeles area, there is an extreme need for bilingual teachers and educators in our school systems. I work for the school district as a transportation coordinator and feel the effects of this enormous, and sometimes overwhelming task of making sure that our students are getting the best chance at an education.

Counselor Angela Cabello has a background of either Irish-Catholic or Italian Catholic background. All the classroom educators, the counselor and the school administration identify as Caucasian. There is a biracial media specialist and two African American kindergarten teacher assistants contributing to the diversity of the faculty/staff. In today’s open world I think diversity in the newsroom in both print and other forms of media such as television and radio is very important. Without diversity all the stories that are reported would be slanted towards one ethnic group or another rather than being a diversified story that would show all sides of a particular newsworthy event. I think in our reading this week we read about the Wall Street Journal that we can see that diversity not only affects racial or ethnic groups but could also be looked at as far as social class goes. In my viewpoint, creativity means to have an own personal idea of whatever appropriate topic it is considering. This matter could be how you can handle a situation by doing anything you can possibly think of. Creativity reveals personality. It presents what kind of ways you have to solve a problem. It indicates the skills you plan to do and what your mind believes is inaccurate or suitable. To be clear, creativity displays the person’s emotions whether the topic is important or not. This includes things that determine what type of event or conversation it discusses about. It could also be writing a story and using some imagination. Building, working, and thinking is creativity. There are many differing forms of creativity. One form which differentiates is "Big C" and "Small C". "Big C" creativity is the advance kind of thinking that most people understand, however, it is quite rare. On the other hand, "Small c" creativity describes the little ideas and "a-ha’s" that improve and develop our lives. Another form which differs from each other is Divergent and Convergent thinking skills. Divergent and Convergent thinking skills are both valuable forms of intelligence, problem solving and critical thinking.
