Yet I cling to them because I still believe in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart.” (Anne Frank) Anne Frank was one of the many children who fell victim to the Holocaust during the World War II. Anne’s story is nothing short of a tragedy; she died at the early age of fifteen from Typhus while being held by the Nazi Regime, in the concentration camp Bergen-Belsen. Before dying, Anne and her family went into hiding and lived secretly in her father's office building in the Netherlands. While living in the “Annex,” a secret hiding place, she developed many interests such as reading and writing. Anne is famous because she is one of the best-known victims of the Holocaust, her story has been shared with millions in a publication of her diary, and through her writing’s she introduces many people to the massacre and its horror.

Anne Frank was born to Otto and Edith Frank in the late 1920’s, alongside her older sister, Margot Frank, who was born three years before Anne. This small family of four were just ordinary working class people trying to make a living like everyone else. Both Anne and Margot lover school and their friends. They both also really enjoyed writing, which included diary entries every day. Both girls, particularly Anne, wrote down every event and feeling she experienced. Anne Frank was growing up in the era of Hitler and anti-semitism. She and her family were all accustomed to living a comfortable, normal, and fairly affluent lifestyle. Adolf Hitler, the German dictator of the time, believed that Jewish people deserved to be confined and killed on a massive scale. The Franks moved out of their house only with limited food into a secret room in an office building, cramped together silently with nothing to occupy their minds except each other and books. This silent, stealthy, boring lifestyle made life incredibly difficult for the hyperactive person Anne was. Not only that, she and her family lived in constant fear of being caught. Any small noise would have been enough to separate the family and send them to concentration camps across Europe. The Diary of A Young Girl, written over a two-year period, tells about the life of a young girl named Anne Frank who is also the author, while she and her family are in hiding in Holland. They are staying in a secret attic of the office building where Mr. Frank used to work in order to escape from the Nazis during World War II. During their stay in the annex, they are supported by several people in the office building, who risk their own lives to insure the secrecy of the Jewish hideout and to provide them with food and basic supplies. That was the case for a young girl named Anne Frank, she had to go through the holocaust, which made it harder for her to grow up. Anne Frank was a dutch girl who lived during the jewish antisemitism period and unfortunately died in the Holocaust. Born in Frankfurt (Germany), on June 12, 1929 she used to live with her older sister, Margot, her father, Otto and her mother, Edith until one day the nazi 's ideas reached the town were they used to live. Her life has been plenty of adventures and bad moments that she had to overpass. All of these horrible adventures that she went through were able to be known by the people thanks to a birthday present that she received. It was hard on Anne and everyone else to live in such a small space and live with the fear of being caught and having no privacy from each other. Anne was thirteen years old when she went into hiding. While in hiding Anne had a diary where she wrote all about her experience and time in the annex. It was a hard enough life dealing with the war, going into hiding, and living in a small space but somehow Anne still sounds like a teenager and I can relate to some of her teenage struggles.
