1. The cartoon is of a Mongolian man's head, with eight tentacles spreading out. Each tentacle contains unwanted things that the illustrator thinks the Mongolians will take with them into Australia, should there be an influx of immigrants. The head if the man is drawn in a menacing manner, with an unfriendly scowl and two buck teeth that have a gap the size of another tooth between them. The multiple alleged vices of the Mongolians include: cheap labour, pak ah-pu (a gambling game), immorality, small-pox and typhoid, opium, bribery, fan-tan (another gambling game) and customs robbery. The fact that the man is depicted as an octopus implies that the Mongolians are thought of as slimy, unclean and therefore subordinate and perhaps the fact that the Asians would get a 'hold' on Australia.

In the Orlando, Florida area this area is always changing and will always change due to the fact that it’s the tourist capital of the world. Records are a group of fields that are about one thing. An example would be social security numbers in a database of patients. Each patient would have a social security number and each social security number is in a field. That field would have the same information which is that patients social security number even though every ones is different and there would be many listed depending on how many patients was in the database. However I have noticed particularly in reading that sometimes you’ll read a passage and think, hold on that doesn’t make sense. Then as you think about it you realize that you have thought of the wrong word. “A minute discrepancy was found”. The reader pronounces it as Minute, which is a time frame instead of minute meaning a small irregularity. This throws off the sentience completely. You hear this regularly happening in the media.
