With a great sense of nationalism and pride in the year of 1763 colonists were celebrating the victory from the French and Indian war. This war left the British government in debt. The British tried to pay off the debt by taxing the colonists in many things. American colonists refused to keep up with the tyranny/rule of the British and requested representation in the legislation of new laws in the British Parliament which was denied and that is why it is justified that the Americans colonists broke away from England to gain the independence they had aspired to get after being deprived and oppressed from their freedom. The story may be twisted but sometimes they realize they truly were the villain in both fake and true realities. The Boston Massacre’s first news report was untrue, showing the soldiers to be shooting at unarmed civilians. I believe the Boston Massacre, the terrible instance where riot-provoking colonists were shot by British soldiers, is certainly not one sided- but the British deserve to take the blame. We all think we understand the gruesome events that occurred on March 5th, but do we really know the true horrors of that night? I have read many different testimonies, and viewpoints attempting to escape concluding an opinion that was influenced by bias so that I could provide an intelligent article for the readers of this newsletter.
