Biblical Worldview This paper will delve into a greater understanding of the following questions. What is the meaning of Worldview? What is meant by each of the four primary aspects of the Biblical worldview: creation, the fall, redemption and restoration? How does free enterprise comport with or reject creation, the fall, redemption, and restoration? How does socialism comport with or reject creation, the fall, redemption, and restoration? How does progressivism support or reject Biblical Worldview? This paper will also look at the following four topics: being made in the image of God, equality, justice, property. Each will be looked at in light of Biblical worldview, free enterprise, socialism, ethics in the marketplace, and the author of this paper. As you can see there is a lot to cover. So let us move along to the first question. What actually does worldview mean? Worldview – In General “The meaning of the term worldview seems self-evident: an intellectual perspective on the world or universe. Indeed, the 1989 edition of the Oxford English Dictionary defines world-view as a "... contemplation of the world, [a] view of life ..." (Funk, 2001). The word contemplation can also mean inspection or observation. Many things go into a person’s worldview and everyone’s worldview will be slightly different. An individual worldview is comprised of the total of that individual (e.g. their history, religion, priorities, etc.). “Whether or not we realize it, we all have worldviews!
