Biblical Vs. Biblical Worldview

In Paul letter to the Romans he provides for us a biblical view of creation, which is our natural world, our human identity as it relates to God, human relationship and how it should be understood and culture. He shows us God’s love for all mankind, regardless of nationality or cultural background through His saving grace found in Jesus Christ. He grants salvation to all by faith in His son, with no favoritism or partiality. Man is incapable of saving himself, it is not earned through his works or good deeds, it’s only found by faith in Christ. Everyone has a worldview, whether we know it or not. Worldview is the way a person makes sense of the world, life and reality. For example: I view the glass as half full, but you might view the glass as half empty. We both see the glass but we do not agree on how to view it. Our worldview is formed by our education, family beliefs, the culture we live in, and media we are exposed to. For many of us our surrounding culture influences our worldview and we have never had to think about why we believe what we believe and we wouldn’t be able to defend our beliefs to others.

The IMF oversees the exchange rate of currencies and encourages the free convertibility of any currency into another nation’s form of currency. A Biblical Worldview component should be added to the IMF for the purpose of instilling absolute truths to prevent cultural subjectivity and corruption. Having Biblical worldview added as a component provides an authority for absolute truth to be derived from. Absolute truth would be determined through the authority of God and His word. Having God as a standard for morality would help to prevent corruption arising from subjectivity determined by power-alliances and bribery.

John also reveals Christ’s identity, “In the beginning the Word (logos) already existed. He was with God, and he was God…He created everything there is. Nothing exists that he didn’t make. Life itself was in him and this life gives light to everyone.” (John 1:1, 3-4)

A worldview is the overall structure that a human being can use to interpret the world and how it applies to their life individually. It is what people believe about the big questions in their lives; who are we, how did we get here, is God real and why are we here? In today’s modern world, there are many different views regarding the natural world, human identity, human relationships, and culture. This paper will focus on the worldview and implications of these topics based on the Bible, in particular, Romans 1-8, and how it still applies in today’s world.

By Faith we believe that God created the Natural World that He is the creator of all things. He is the source of all that live, and spoke the world into existence. The Bible begins with “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genisis1:1) In Romans 1:20 (NLT) Paul tells us “For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.” God took a blank canvas and used his brush to paint a masterpiece called planet Earth. With us in mind, he painted magnificent sunrises and sunsets, mountains, animals, the stars, moon and the sky. “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” (Psalm 19:1 NIV) Sadly man set to out to invalidate creation and to take the glory away from God. Being well informed about or knowing thoroughly concerning a biblical worldview is to know and to understand the infallible Word of God, which is Himself. Knowing and understanding biblical worldview help me to know and understand the full idea of God’s purpose and calling for our life. The meaning of biblical worldview is the most important or necessary part of knowing and believing the infallible Word of God. When accepting the Word of God as entirely true, then it will become suitable to the foundation for everything that you say or do (Focus on the Family, 2017, para. 8).

A biblical worldview should influence the way I think about, treat, and speak to others on a daily basis because I do not want to go around and degrade everyone that comes into sight. I should always treat others with the upmost respect even if I do not get treated with respect by that individual. I should not always judge others on how they look, speak, or act because I would not like it if someone came up to me and started pointing out every flaw that I had. Matthew 7:12 states “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” Therefore, individuals need to be more mindful of their words and actions because an individual can really hurt someone mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Every individual has their own personal worldview despite their race, religion, sex and age. One’s worldview is that particular person’s own perception and how that person shapes their beliefs concerning the world around them. The framework of one’s worldview is what personally defines that person’s reality. One’s worldview is important because one’s perceptions and principles dictate one’s actions. A biblical worldview are values, perspectives and principles that are biblically based. Values, principles and perspectives shape and mold how decisions are made in one’s life. Having a biblical worldview helps to govern one’s lifestyle to be a reflection of God. Those who have a biblical worldview have the belief that humans were put on earth to be the image of God, therefore we should shape our behaviors to be like Him. A biblical worldview can only be established by the investigation of information provided by the Bible to determine truth and principles that ultimately shapes one’s conduct. The purpose of education is to guide humans into their purpose in life. The Christian philosophy of education helps create a platform for biblical truth and principles to be investigated for the purpose of transmitting

Paul makes it clear that the world was created by God and that we are without excuse if we choose to deny that. Romans

Scripture opens with a witness to the act of God in creation. This fact points to us that understanding the world as the creation of the infinite-personal God is a fundamental starting point in constructing any kind of adequate theology. What is also clear is that it is important to get this understanding right, to the extent that we can do so. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Gen 1:1 HCSB) (Akin, Theology of the church). But with the revelation of the speaking God who has told us what he has done should make us want to please him each and every day and to show him we love him to.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. “Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters” (Gen 1:1-2). Paul states in Romans 1:20 that Gods invisible attributes, eternal power, and divine nature are clearly understood by the visible things that God has made in this world. God’s redeemed, should show a concern for the care of nature. Nature suffers because it is a casualty of sin, not because it is naturally evil. The world should anticipate a time when God shall deliver creation from the wrath of sin (8:19, 21). Nature “waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed” (8:19). 133

A biblical worldview is a worldview that is based upon the inherent word of God found in the Bible. Specifically, a biblical worldview is a worldview that possess principles and ideas that are communicated in God’s words to his people. In order to possess a biblical worldview, one must believe in the inherent truth of the scripture and base one’s moral “foundation” on these principles and ideas. This means that one should view scripture as a sort of “lens” or guidebook by which they navigate this confusing and broken world. Keeping this in mind, one’s life and more

There are lots of non-Christian or secular worldviews. I believe that there is one biblical or Christian worldview. This could be referred to as the basic Christian worldview. It reflects the basic principles of Christianity. Dr. Henderson gives a brief explanation of authentic and holistic Christianity in his presentation. I agree with what Dr. Henderson said, “authentic Christianity is Christ-centered and biblically-based”.[1] My Christian worldview should be characterized, by who I am in Christ and what I know to be biblical. Romans 12:2 says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” [2] I want God to shape my worldview, rather than have it shaped by this world.

It is a challenge for a Christian to live in the modern world without facing opposition from this corrupt and corroding world. Many believers even succumb to the snares of secular ideology, while still proclaiming Jesus. Some Christians would wonder what the big difference is between a secular and a biblical worldview. The truth is that the devil has been blinding us to how evil these secular ideals are, and how dangerous they are to Christians. In general, the secular worldview revolves around self and spirituality, rather than God and religion. The Christian worldview should be Christ-centered and focused on serving others rather than ourselves. When compared, the two worldviews cannot be combined. Rather, a stark contrast lies between them.
