Athletes Are Paid Fairly

The NFL players are playing the sport they want to play so they should be paid less. NFL players get paid $420,000 a week, they should get paid $100,000 a year for playing what they want to play. For example Derek Carr is getting paid about $820,000 a year. Some people have good jobs and they don't get paid that much in year and a half. Matthew Stanford eats paid about $135 million

Imagine a workers boss getting paid from his or her success while the worker gets nothing in return. If you have not realized already that is a pretty basic definition of a pimp and that is exactly what the NCAA does to their athletes (Latham). The NCAA should pay their college athletes for their hard work.

Student athletes have been disrespected their whole career, even though College athletic is considered a money maker of a business, the athletes don’t even get paid, some say it is because paying them will reduce the amount of competitiveness, some say they aren’t employees so they shouldn’t get paid. Even the full scholarships they are getting has flaws. Overall the colleges are just too greedy.

Although Athletes entertain us all and provide us with something to look forward to, their paychecks are too big for what they do. There are millions of people who are injured in the military or have illnesses that need that money to help them recover ,but instead we give the money to people who entertain us.

They make tons of money for colleges, some college players need money to pay off tuition, books, and room, Incase of injuries they need money because they could be career ending. Football is an extremely rough sport; according to Sportsters.com, “football players put their life on the the line every day as they risk life threatening injuries such as concussions, broken limbs, heart-attacks, paralyzation and even death.” Another interesting point is that colleges and college coaches earn millions of dollars on the backs of the athletes while the players themselves are not authorized to receive one dime for their work. Every year the government of Canada provides money for athletics through three programs all of which add up to around $256 million, but that is only going towards the athletes, not even the facilities. I believe that people that play sports in college should be paid because people in college struggle a lot for their living expenses. It is very hard in college to pay for tuition, living expenses, etc. People say that some nights they go hungry without food. I believe that it isn't fair for hard working athletes that risk getting injured to not get paid for their sports. Sport athletes should get paid more for their time in athletics because they are the reason colleges get money from the tickets and merchandise.

Let’s go over what we’ve gotten so far. So first, athletes deserve the money because they have earned it. Their talent is worth a lot money so that's how much they get paid. Next, athletes train and put a lot of their time into the sport that they play.

The NFL has a labor union that has a percentage on how much the athletes get paid which is 51% and the other 49% goes to the merchandise,stadiums, equipment and etc.. Professional athletes that get paid in the NFL usually make hundreds of millions by the time they are done playing which I believe is too high. If they were to only play 1-2 years they would still have enough for a nonprofessional athlete to live off of for most or their whole lifetime and most athletes play for an average of 4 years. So, that's some of the examples that I think why professional athletes get paid too much.

Have you ever thought about how much Athletes get paid? If not they get paid about 5.15 million dollars and that's just for one year! I don't know about you but I think that's way way too much. And yes they get injured and may end there carrere. But most of them are lucky and are out for just one year then go back the next year and play like they were before dunking hoops, shooting 3- Pointers etc.

Getting paid millions of dollars in the sports industry is a huge benefit. In my opinion some players deserve multi-million dollar salaries and some don't. There are many factors that i believe should determine whether an athlete deserves a multi-million dollar contract.

It is true that more sporting champions now pay more attention to play for the money the get paid than what records they can break or whether they can win a match. This kind of phenomenon actually not that astonish to the public. Recent research reveals that more graduated students are more willing to choose jobs which can offer them high paid and ignore whether the students themselves are interested in the job or not. It is the same reason for those athletes.
