Chapter 6 Design Your Offense: Engaging Stakeholders to Drive Achievement
1. Name three new projects in your school district that should include a communications plan.
A. New Attendance Policy: Ste. Genevieve R-II recently updated the attendance policy for elementary, middle, and high school students.
B. Dragon FIRE Tutoring: All students are required to attend two tutoring sessions per week. Students are encouraged to request tutoring placement. Otherwise, student teachers and/or the students’ advisors place students into sessions.

The committee will decide how the plan will affect each stakeholder group, how much information from the message does each stakeholder group want to know, and how much of the message does each stakeholder group need to know. My third step is determine how to share the message to the stakeholder groups. Some groups will appreciate an electronic medium, while other groups will want the information in writing, etc.
Chapter 7 Harness Your Secret Weapon: Communicating Effectively with Colleagues and Employees
1. What three small initiatives could you begin to engage employees more in the mission of the organization? Which one might have the biggest impact?
A. I would increase the amount of online polls and surveys regarding our particular educational issues. These polls/surveys could be confidential, and I would certainly share results with my colleagues/administration.
B. I would continue time for professional learning communities. During this time, faculty and staff can discussion the mission and specific elements concerning goal-attainment.
C. I would make a point of increasing the amount of face-to-face communication with my colleagues and administration.
The face-to-face communication would probably have the largest impact on the communication. Simply knowing that someone is taking time from their busy schedule to have a conversation is very valuable. This would probably make my
7. In capitalism, most businesses have a profit motive. Describe at least one reason that businesses with a profit motive may be helpful for society and at least one reason that they may be harmful for society. In the United States, we encounter quite a bit of obstacles that we can’t seem to get rid of completely. We as a nation deal with inflation, unemployment, stagflation, recessions, depressions, and so much more. Reading these three articles opened my eyes to the world of economics, and even made me question the society we live in. I’ve learned that sometimes questions can’t be answered, and I learned that once we solve one issue, there is always another issue on its way. These articles made me analyze, and think about the future of economics, and what I can do to try and help the economy. These authors of these three articles make it very clear that there are issues in the United States, and they do an amazing job
We could start by taking a vote on trying out year-round schooling. Year-round schooling is becoming more popular in the United States, and according to Hanover Research “Year-round schedules do not add days of instruction to the approximated 180 days typical in a traditional school year. Most year-round schedules simply group the instructional days into smaller units with more frequent breaks throughout the year.” This could help more advanced kids move up more efficiently as well as making the teachers happier, which will make the students happier. It would also help with the dreaded brain drain or summer slide. Year-round schooling has many benefits for our school which is why I feel that we should make the
The plan outlines five goals that we have found for our school district. These goals show our commitment to provide the highest possible standards of education for all students in our district and to ensure the fair and equitable treatment of all members of our community. We consider understanding individual differences in each student and teacher so that we can adopt the appropriate programs of study for them of the utmost importance.
Four, I would improve the contact of children and family within my facility. I think it is important for my girls to have much contact with their family as needed to know they have support from their family members. Many young girls have children and I will allow on weekends for the children to stay with the mothers. I believe this will help the girl want to do better and be a better mother for her child. My girls will feel as if they still have their freedom, but are just in a place for
addition, the policy indirectly supports the families of the elderly. It does so by offering services to caregivers that prevent or shorten costly nursing home placements, relieving financial strain, and providing educational programs to give a better understanding of aging. However, due to insufficient funding OAA services have restricted access and cannot reach all the elderly in need. Statistical demographics reveal that 27% of seniors that are receiving services are below the poverty line, recipients are more likely to be female (71% vs 57%), twice as likely to be rural, more likely to live alone, have less income, less educated, and less healthy than the average senior (Herrera 2013).
* Talk to employees 1 on 1 get to know them see what they feel can be improved, get their input and
Policy and procedures are often changes in light of new evidence based practice. After education myself on the Safe to Sleep initiative, I set out to educate others. Knowing that many policy and procedure changes must go thru the quality council I began my education there before moving on to staff education.
The Unit 1 assignments were challenging mostly the Intellipath course. My two most challenging nodes were Formulating Business and Corporate Strategies and Competitive Advantage. I plan to go back and revise these and a few other areas to improve my understanding and score. The Unit 2 assignments are valuable and offer an opportunity to explore concerns in the discussion board with other students. Also the discussion gives an opportunity to plan a strategy for success in learning as we finish this course. The Intellipath so far has been challenging but I have started the path and plan to complete by the end of this week and follow up with revisions to Unit 1 and 2. Unit 3 and 4 discussions are the beginning steps to organizing the Unit 5 Assignment. I have some questions regarding how to approach these. Does each group member post the decided outline? Also in Unit 4 we are to post the executive summary, is this to be the same? If so I am concerned about the similarity scores on these?
Training Staff I would give the new employees a tour of the school and introduce them to the other employees, which is an orientation. I would arrange motivational presentations and stress management seminars to increase management and efficiency
8. What would you do to improve the critical incident if you were to do it again?
I understand how you feel about the assignment; I misunderstood also and submitted the introduction. It is disheartening when information is unclear and this paper is overwhelming to me as well. However, I pray that you will be encourage you are not alone and will consistency we will get through. Keep a [positive attitude and reach out for the help you need and submit your paper to the writing lab it will help you to stay
3. You have been asked to advise a growing organisation which employs 75 people in office-based roles but which has no specialist, dedicated HR function. Managers are particularly keen to know how they can best evaluate the effectiveness of their HR activities and initiatives. Despite limited funds being available the organisation manages to provide some form of formal training and development opportunities for everyone each year, gives everyone an annual performance appraisal and seeks to involve staff through a consultative forum which all attend at least once a year. What advice would you give? Justify your answer.
deciding when a face-to-face interaction is more appropriate than an email, phone call, or paper memo.
The one thing I would change in my department would be the cross-training of employees on job duties. In my department, there are two Eligibility Assistants, and we have duties that we share, but also duties that are assigned solely to us individually. If one of us is on vacation or is out of the office for some reason, the work assigned solely to that individual does not get completed until they return to the office. This causes issues with timeliness as the State of Tennessee and Medicare require most things assigned to be completed within 48 hours. If we were cross-trained on all the duties assigned, it would prevent the issue, as all job duties could be performed by either of the Eligibility
