The continents have hated each other for a very long time, but they have never had a gang attack over it until today. So it was a foggy day and everyone was just inside because it was to foggy to drive. So everyone was on twitter tweeting at each other. When Bill was on twitter he saw a tweet that said “Bill no one likes you…we are sending out strongest Asian gang member to come hurt you. So as the Asian came to kill Bill he walked up to him and killed the Asian with an ak. Bill went back on twitter and sent a tweet to Asian Mafia and said that he killed your biggest and baddest gang member and that none of them could kill him. Later that week the Mafia told him they were sending 50 men to come and kill you while you are sleeping. As Bill
There are many risk with someone joining a gang, but many young people perceive that there are more benefits to being in a gang and are worth the risk. Throughout southern Los Angeles, the Crips became a very popular gang. At one point they outnumbered other non-Crip gangs by a 3-1 ratio, which caused friction and dispute with rival gang members as everyone was vying to be the “top dog”. By the early 70’s a gang on Piru Street formed and was know as the Piru Street Boys. This gang associated themselves with the Crips as a set, but after two year of peace a feud began between the two groups. What started out as a feud turned into the violent warfare between the two gangs. This continued until about 1973 when the Piru Street Boys wanted to end the violence they had with the Crips and called a meeting for other gangs who had been targeted by the Crips. During this meeting, the Piru, all ties with the Crips were broken and they started a new gang that would be called the Bloods. The Bloods are infamous for having a longtime rivalry with the Crips. After the conflict between the Piru and the Crips, there have been more conflict and feuds amongst sets in the Crip gang. Many people on the outside may think that Crips only feud with Bloods or rival gang members, but in reality the fight amongst each other. Another example of this is the Rollin’ 60s set and 83rd Street Gangsters Crips have had a “beef” and have been feuding since 1979.
After many mixtapes and nearing the edge of household name status, Maryland rapper Logic drops his first album. In this album is a song titled Gang Related. This song tells the story of what environment and household he grew up in. His brother is in a gang and sells cocaine to his father in front of him. Logic's mother is in an out of mental institutions, all the while logic is growing up and trying not to get shot when he walks outside. With drugs and gangs all around him, it is quite amazing that he got out and become a famous rapper. Gang Related also has a core message of stopping the violence, which leads to a question, is this song about his story or a message about ending the violence?
The dynamics of a female gang member’s lifestyle differs from that of a male gang member. When discussing gangs, one should keep in mind that these groups of individuals are at times a well-organized group with specific positions and rankings. The female’s role in most gangs consists of assisting in and completing violent criminal activities, such as fighting, organization, and love. Due to the public displayed image of predominately male gang members; female gang members are used for luring male victims into traps through their sexuality.
In chapter 5 in the novel Gang Leader for a Day by Sudhir Venkatesh he writes about his experience of how he began to tag along with Ms. Bailey more often. Venkatesh says the more time he would spend with her, the more he would understand her work ethics and why she is so important to the community. Since Venkatesh was spending more time with Ms. Bailey he began to help her with food drives and food donations in the community as well as go to meetings that she would run. Venkatesh says the reason that Ms. Bailey was helping the housing projects, community and their building was because it was low on clothing and food for the winter. This portion of the novel teaches us about how many people out there have needs and the altruism in the way some
Organized stalking is a very well know reality occurring to an untold amount of people a crossed the United States. Our U.S Government and intelligence agencies are fully aware of this. They are also aware of its direct purpose of the slow destruction of the targeted individual’s life this includes the deliberate ending of their life. Mr. Ted L. Gunderson (1929-2011) retired from the F.B.I as Senior Special Agent – In-Charge of the Los Angeles Field Office. In his affidavit dated 26 April 2011 he refers to organized stalking by its slang name gang stalking.
This week I read chapter 5 of American street gangs (old book) Tim Deleany mentioned 3 points of what happens inside a gang that many don’t know, the first point is the categories they have based on the age the recruits are, the second point is the categories they are placed in depending on the activities they are involved, the third point is the process that involves the recruitment, punishment, and leaving the gang. At the conclusion of the paper I would be providing an experience my uncle went through when he was leaving the gang.
According to the National Gang Intelligence Center Gang Report, “Gangs are rapidly enlarging into most. Street gangs in particular, which account for 88 percent of U.S. gang membership, have increased their numbers in 53 percent of the nation’s police jurisdictions.” These gangs are drafting their partners while they are in primary or secondary school. You might ask why, because it easy to manipulate these kids minds and they do not think about the outcome that comes with joining a gang. Gang members usually separate themselves from non-members and other gangs by dressing a specific style or wearing a
The most known African american gangs are the Crips and Bloods. They were “the two most violent and criminally active African American gangs-originated” (Hoover 1). The Crips formed in Los Angeles. Neighborhoods and schools would be assaulted by the Crips. They would also do armed robberies. “They developed a reputation for being the most fierce and feared gang in the Los Angeles area” (Hoover 3). Other gangs were being formed because people felt like they needed to be protected from the Crips. A gang that was formed was the Bloods. This gang was from Compton, California. These two gangs were involved in many crimes such as robbery, assault, and selling drugs. They usually sold “marijuana, phencyclidine, and lysergic acid diethylamide” (Hoover
It’s 1929; the golden years of industrial growth. Many great things are happening in the U.S. Many terrible things are happening as well. One, being the St. Valentine Massacre. In the streets of downtown Chicago, yesterday at approximately 10:30am, two rival gangs (Irish American Gang and the South Side Italian Gang) go head and head. Al Capone; the leader of the South Side Italian Gang is the suspected perpetrator.
Let's say you're by yourself on the subway in New York City. You get on and it's not that crowded, there's a bunch of open seats. As you look around, you notice that the car is filled with mainly high school aged kids, mostly boys. On one side there is a spot next to a bunch of African Americans, on the other side it's a posse of Asians. Okay, so where are you going to sit? Next to the Asian's I bet. What if it was Latino's instead of Blacks, chances are you would still say you'd go towards the Asian's and shy away from the more typical gang looking kids. When most people think of gangs, they don't really think Asian, it's a Black or Hispanic thing right? Well, Asian gangs have been becoming more and
In the California jail system there are six major prison gangs. The major prison gangs are the Nuestra Familia, the Mexican Mafia, the Aryan Brotherhood, the Black Guerrilla Family, the Northern Structure, or the Nazi Low Riders. There is such a high level of rivalry among gangs that if a member of one group is released too close to another group of gang members then things could explode violently because of the rivalry that is present and they could attack one another. The prisoners must be released in careful order to maintain the peace in. Once the inmates are released to the yard the first member of each gang to be released will claim a spot on the yard for the rest of the gang to gather. Once the gang is gathered at the location that was
Living in Madera for 18 years, I came to respect law enforcement and all they have done to help better our community. The specific branch I respect the most is the gang task force. The officers of the gang task force have cleaned up the city of Madera and helped change many kids to avoid a life of crime. They have to do so much but yet, when I turn on the t.v. Or computer to dive in deeper about the gang task force line of work, most of what there is to find are authors, newscasters, and the general public bashing them along with the rest of law enforcement. It is basic human nature to stereotype and group things together. The gang task to no exception. The gang task officers are viewed by many as racist, profiling, and lying
Shellie, I wasn't surprised that women want to leave the gang life for a better future for their child but I did find it bizarre that men more so want their children to grow up in the lifestlye of gangs. This to me was something I thought existed in the past when thinking of mobs and the mob lifestyle. I assumed that over time men would also feel the same way and want a better life for their children but when the gang lifestlye is all theyve ever lived and all they know it makes sense now to see why they think its positive and good for their future children to be invovled. I think wanting that is more of a safety factor for a parent and that they believe the best way of life is to follow in their own foot steps which is understandable after

Abstract: This review studies in depth research done on street gangs. Social issues have social scientists turning away from including this in their research around this time. Sociological views have been changed dramatically in the past 40 years due to gender and racial studies. Also, women have started to join gangs since America has been changed with woman equality laws passing.
