Although social media can be beneficial for communication with family, long distance friends, and learning new things and seeing new interesting things, it can also be dangerous to someone who does not know how to use social media or is new to it. Social media is harmful in today’s society; like Facebook, and snapchat, should enforce privacy more heavily to avoid social anxiety, sexual harassment crimes,and communication.

Nowadays, a lot of people are using social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler and so on. Since the Internet has propagated rapidly, social media have progressed a lot. The generalization of the internet makes us to live conveniently and fast. People are almost using smart phones, i-phones or comfortable devices which can access to internet. These equipments make us to do social network easily. It helps contact friends, family, and other people even though they live far away. It could be, however, abused, if you don’t use properly. Especially, it is important that we understand and regulate the use of social media by young children.

There is a transformation happening today that is completely changing the way that we do things. The ways that we are communicating are shifting from face to face interactions to short, interactive messages. Technology seems to be making it easier to stay connected, but it is restricting our interactions with others and leading to isolation.

Imagine a world that hinges on how people view one another through a narrow scope of social media. Reputation is built on how you interact with followers or viewers and the face to face value of conversation is diminished to the point where people no longer default to conversations in person. This is the direction that society is moving in because of the growing presence of social media within our lives. Everyone knows that one person that is glued to their phone on some sort of social platform and lives their lives through the lens of their smartphone camera and the screen on that phone. Social media has a responsibility in the lives of humans and that responsibility should be to promote face to face interaction and the benefits of socializing and meeting people. There are arguments for and against the growth of social media. So, this paper will argue for the opposition first and then have the thesis argument stated and go back and forth responding for both sides. Ultimately, this back and forth argument will give proof as to why social media has a vital role in society that it is not currently fulfilling.

Our society has become heavily reliant on social media, and today’s younger generation cannot avoid using it in their everyday lives. As time has progressed, social media has advanced significantly, becoming easier to access with a touch of a button. These advancements provide both positive and negative consequences to youths’ relationships. Due to the rapid advancement of social media, youths’ real-life relationships with their peers have been affected both positively and negatively.

In this age of social media, we are constantly worried about being popular. We are driven by “likes,” “comments,” and “followers.” Not caring what our peers thought, our middle school selves posted anything and everything. Now, as seniors and having had access to social media for an abundance of years, we are far more cautious about what we post but not in the way you might imagine. Instagram is a resourceful tool but, if used incorrectly, could impair your social status.

The wonderful creation that took over this new generation is social media. Social media is a way for people to express their selves, promote, make friends, entertain, etc. Some of the major platforms are: Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr. Social media is a part of our lives that may never go away.

When people think of social media they probably think of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. All of these websites allow you to post, comment, and like things other people say. It’s a great concept and all of these types of social media are very popular. I have an account or two on all of these websites, but after a while started to notice something. It started going from nice posts and pictures of my friends to videos and pictures of people I didn’t know all with very negative comment sections. This made the whole experience of seeing what my friends were doing a stressful time. After that occurred four years ago I decided to seek out an alternative form of social media that would have a more positive feeling to it. I needed to prove to myself that not all social media was a bad place or just a waste of time.

Ring! Ring! Ring! Do you hear that? That’s the sound of technology calling you. You can't keep ignoring it and sending it to voicemail. Sooner or later, you're going to have to pick it up, and when you do, it'll open a whole new world for you, a world of technology. We as inhabitants of the "Digital Age", have no choice but to embrace technology. Doing otherwise, will only complicate our lives further, and make things more difficult. In this Digital Age that we are currently living in, technology is becoming more and more a part of our daily lives. One of the biggest aspects of the Digital Age, was the introduction of social media. Social media makes our lives so much easier by connecting us and allowing us to share valuable information with one another. It's no coincidence that the use of social media has spread to our youth. However, some are debating whether this is a good or bad thing, as children and teens tend to be very impressionable. I for one believe that social media is beneficial to our youth, as it has proven to help increase their self-confidence, as wells as helping them create, and improve real world relationships. Despite this evidence however, some still believe that social media is harmful rather than helpful.

What is todays version of the cigarette? What is something that we think is fine today that ends up being the complete opposite in a few years? People have many theories, some could be right some could be wrong. I have one, it’s social media. Now social media isn’t going to harm you like a cigarette would but there are multiple problems social media can cause someone. You might value your worth based on how many followers or likes you have, you may be deceived when pursuing a relationship, it might affect your job eligibility, and it may play a role in your psychological health. Being that social media and the dawn of the tech age is so new there are many grey areas when it comes to how social media effects a person on a daily basis. I will explore how social media may be different than it seems and why people need to be educated on the possible negative consequences if it is used unwisely.

With social media, a user can meet someone from anywhere around the world and share life experiences and not have to worry about seeing each other every time they talk. Social media has connected peoples from all over the world and has made communities from peoples who have never met. People can lead a different life than they do in reality. Wherever you go, you see kids checking their phones and seeing if the picture they posted has enough likes. A few decades ago, not many people had phones, social media has made it possible for unlimited information and communication to be easily accessible and shared. However, social media creates body image for girls and boys and may lead to cyberbullying.

Social media has become a significant part of our everyday lives. Social networking such as Facebook, Instagram, etc., enables us to connect with people from everywhere. But social media sites are becoming well known among everyone even kids. Nowadays, is difficult for them and us to recognize the difference between the essential relationships we promote in the real world and the relationships that formed by social media sites. The benefits of social media that its creates a communication between different culture, worlds, languages, and different beliefs as well. It doesn't make us interactive with others like not meeting face to face, and this makes us communicate by using the text, email, and chat online more than doing it in the real world. But what is the main advantage of it, since it is making people communicate in different ways and causing others to benefit from it such as businesses? Businesses get advantage from social media by targeting the most person who has more followers or likes so they can advertise their products or display their products in those sites.

When it comes to connecting ideas and people in our modern era, there is little doubt that social media brings a plethora of benefits to the masses. The key differentiator is obtaining the audience necessary for making an event successful.
