Students should demonstrate scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character because of three reasons. One, if students demonstrate these qualities they are more likely to get better grades and get reprimanded less. Another, without these traits, a student would have far less opportunities in the future. Finally, as students grow they will gain much more wisdom if they allow themselves to work on demonstrating these characteristics. Overall, these qualities are very important in the present, and in the future.

I believe that the National Honor Society is an organization that recognizes the achievements of the students that are admitted into the organization such as: service, leadership, scholarship, character, and extra-curricular activities. On top of the recognizing students, I also see the NHS as an organization that pushes students to move forward with these characteristics and try to strive for further greatness or involvement in their community or school. I believe that the NHS finds ways to help good students become greater students or even greater people.

An application can only do so much to reveal someone’s character. I believe my application leaves much room for discussion, it does not fully describe me. As my resume indicates, I am actively committed to improving the community and helping others. What it fails to illustrate is my resilience, dedication, cooperativeness, and my confidence. I go into situations with an open mind, positivity and a dedication to build strong relationships with those around me. If there are obstacles stopping me from doing so, I try to overcome them. Recently, I was hired at a catering hall with absolutely no clue what to expect. Instead of being wary and apprehensive, I jumped right in; albeit some mistakes, I became increasingly confident as the evening progressed.

Being a member of the National Honor Society would mean something very important to me. It means that I will get to be apart of something that helps improves many people's lives on a daily basis. From the time I was young, I had always had this thing inside me to want to help people. It could be the smallest thing from buying can food items for the poor to spending my evenings coaching. No matter what it is or what effort it took, it always gave me the same heart felt moment, knowing I did something for the better. I want to be in National Honor Society because I want to make a difference. There are a lot of people out there who need assistance. That means there needs to be people in this world who help the ones in need and I want to be one

I believe I should be inducted into the National Honor Society because I obtain admirable social and work skills, which include my strong ability to interact and understand others and my perseverance towards my goals. Opening yourself up to strangers or being open to getting on different levels of understanding with different types of people can be difficult for some, however, it has always been my forte. I began my high school academic career at Burrell. The transition from Mary Queen of Apostles School to Burrell High School was a traumatic adjustment to the quantity of my classmates. I had been traumatized at first because I had gone from knowing every person in my small school to not knowing anything or anyone in Burrell. I surprisingly

I, Troy Weber, want to join National Honor Society to benefit my community and myself. This experience will help me with completing difficult tasks, handling a situation or just finding a way to talk to another person. I want to help my community because there is so much work that can be done. People need help everyday and I want to give up my time to lend them a hand or two. Volunteer work can lead to a better character and create a sense of care for the people within a small and large community.

I want to be a member of National Honor Society because I believe it will provide me with more opportunities to help out in the community. I will use the honor of being a member of NHS to set an example for the younger generation of Storm Lake, starting with my four younger siblings. I hope to add to the character of Storm Lake by being a positive influence on those around me. Volunteering in the community will allow me to gain skills that I will use throughout high school and into the rest of my life. I’m a determined person who believes there are no limits to the possibilities in our education. Since I was little, the challenge always passion me, and entering Nation Honor Society, has been a commitment over the past years in my school life.

To be a member of the National Honor Society is a great award and achievement and it means you have worked hard and achieved in school as well as volunteered and been involved in both the school and outside community. However, once you are a member it doesn't mean you can halt all your work and coast through the rest of your high school years. You must continue to work at good grades and more importantly you need to keep working on ways to benefit our school and outside community. You need to be generous with your time and ingenious with your ideas in order to create a lasting impact. If accepted into the national honors society, I plan on contributing to that lasting impact with my previous experiences with volunteering and leading others, as well as my dedication to the society and the moral code it upholds.

In my opinion, the function of an organization such as the National Honor Society is to have a group of students, who volunteer and excel at academics; join them together to make the community a better place. The National Honor Society and its members are people who put aside time to involve themselves in the community. This elite organization expects their participants to maintain high grades, volunteer, and involve themselves in other activities. If I am chosen to be apart this organization I would contribute in National Honor Society by helping our school, and community.

It has been my dream to be in the National Junior Honor Society(NJHS) since my sister was accepted two years ago. I’m so honor to be nominated and hope to follow in her footsteps. I feel qualified to be inducted into the NJHS because I know I’m a good person. Having a good character is something that comes naturally to me. Whenever someone needs help, I gladly volunteer. Helping others for attention is not my purpose. Making sure someone is okay, or asking if they need assistance is. In fifth grade I was given the Inspiration Award. My classmates voted for me to have it because I was an inspiration to them.

I would say overall my character is defined by my hard work ethic, my passion and my humor. My humor is one of my best and probably worst quality because I do the best I can to make absolutely everything humorous. But my passion truly defines my character because it drives me in all aspects of my life. Once I become passionate about something, it’s something that I become actively engaged in. For example, psychology was not my intended major in college. I took a general education course and it felt so natural to me. I had this natural passion to learn all that I could about psychology and eventually I found my niche in social psychology. My passion for the subject continued to grow
