Music is a form of art that affects everyone in one way or another. Music is a piece of art that fully reflects the artist’s feelings or lifelong experiences. Art affects everyone emotionally and everyone can relate to music because the lyrics are meaningful in every way just like a story. For example, XXXTentacion’s music reflects his feelings and his emotional struggles and how he had problems with suicide and clinical depression. I relate to one of his songs, “Everybody Dies in Their Nightmares”.
In this song, he talks about how he is trapped in his mind. The line “Tired of feeling like I am trapped in my damn mind” demonstrates this very clearly. By this, he means that he is stuck feeling the same emotions, is depressed and not able to change. I relate to this line from the song because I have dealt with a lot of emotional issues related to my childhood. This song is a reminder of my past issues and helps to remind myself that life is worth living and that all my efforts were worth it. XXXTentacion has an introduction to his album “17” where he talks about how

Everyone in their life as trouble with their emotions and how they are viewing life and XXXTentacion is no different than the rest of us. In the song I chose, he talks about how he doesn’t want to go outside because of his anxiety. I relate to XXXTentacion in a way because I had problems finding friends all the way until my ninth grade year due to my anxiety that I still have trouble with often. “Tired of feeling like my life is a damn game” is another lyric I relate to. Throughout my life my parents have used me as a way to upset the other parent by making them look bad. Being a child of divorced parents who have both remarried, it always seems as though the parents are playing a game of who is better than the other. I feel like a chess piece in the boardgame of
this song gives one a sense of hope and helps to build faith in the future. Kendrick describes the feeling of despair he once had to overcome in order to get him to where he is today. He also talks about the “evils of Lucy”, a nickname for the Devil Lucifer, who continuously tries to destroy his faith and lead him closer to the path of destruction, but how God got him through the tough times. The message of this song is to assure anyone listening that even though they are going through a hard patch, and they are the minority of society, he assures them that they will be alright, similar to the famous saying, “there’s always a light at the end of the
Music can be used to describe how we feel on the inside when we ourselves can’t seem to find the words. Music has the power to help us discover ourselves or remember something we may have lost. I think Paulnack is right when he states that music can bring people together. Many people like the same genres and styles and feel something when they listen to it. Music can be found all over the world and can be related to everything around us. Music has been a part of our culture since the beginning of history, it’s constantly evolving giving each generation their on form of expression. Just by appreciating music as an art from we can make connections to those who are different from
In the song he states, “she cut to deep, now she left me scarred”(line 6). She didnt actaully cut him but he uses this so the listeners can sense or feel the kind of pain he is experiencing. He compares the pain to a wound from a sharp deep cut. It overall shows that he is hurt and alone after she leaves. He also describes his ex as the “devil in the form of a whore” (line 23). His ex girlfriend doesnt really have the devil inside of her. He compares her to the devil because of how cold hearted she was when she left him. When talking about his sad feelings he says “ Try to brush it off but it keep on going” (line 38). He can literally brush off his his feelings easily; It takes time even if he tries. He compares his feelings about this girl to dust, as if he could brush it off like brushing off dust. Hyperboles wasnt the only literacy tool that malone
The song implements on the hardships a mother will face for the growth of their son because love is what keeps them going. The love a mother will have for her son means that even though they don’t have a father figure around to show them how to grow up, they will always have their mothers to teach them the way of life through a woman’s perspective. In the song, “Dear Mama”, Tupac mentions, “For a woman it ain’t easy trying to raise a man, you always was committed” and he is able to foreshadow the hardships his mother had to face while Tupac was growing up without a father. At the age of seventeen Tupac, was always caught up in drama with his mom. Since Tupac was young he got involved into the hustle and was left in the streets where he basically had to risk he life every day. He never realized that being pushed into the streets would make him think about his mother or even worry about her. Tupac reflects upon the behavior he had during the time and how much stress he would add on his mother’s shoulders, but little did he know that his mother would be there for him regardless. Tupac Shakur’s mom was committed to his son and no matter the troubles he caused and faced she would be there for him to either help him out or at least hear him when he was not feeling good. She was a single mother on welfare, but she always tried
One of the most important lines from the song is, “I can’t change, even if I tired, even if I wanted to”. It is a meaningful
In the 2015 kendrick Lamar song “u”. Kendrick describes the feelings that constantly haunt his heart and the guilt he carries everyday. Reflecting on his darkest moments, lingering pain and the details of his depression. The song “u” by kendrick uses literary tools like Soliloquy and Conflict to show how built up guilt leads to his prolonged depression.
He talks directly to his audience when he says “I know it hurts sometimes, but you’ll get over it”. I really like how this was written for those people who are currently stuck in a dark place. He pours out his emotion into this song. He offers words of encouragement that the listeners can and will succeed. After hearing this song, I instantly replayed it countless time to hear the message “You’ll get over it”.
I chose this song because it shows a person who is battling with depression. They try to take cough syrup as a remedy, but each spoonful is just putting the problems off for a short period of time. He is trying to make his life better for himself, but it is a constant battle to find happiness. This song shows the thoughts a suicidal person has before committing suicide, they tried to find a
The song expresses how broad imagination is replaced by insecurity and obligations, conveying an implication of nostalgia. Through a remembrance of childhood incidents, the speaker sings how life was simple and entertaining. Then, he/she says how rapidly life negatively changed, relating to his/her current state. For instance, as stated in the following lyrics, “I was told when I get older all my fears would shrink/ But now I'm insecure and I care what people think” (5-6).
This song tells a story about the struggles an immigrant deals with in America and I think ending with this lyric leaves a lasting stand on listeners to keep fighting for what they want and to not give up. I also like that he took a character from a book to show that community and the human spirit will get through bad
When the full song hits your ears you are transported to another world, you are somehow caught between the tensions of what was, what is and what could be. This is a song that doesn’t pretend to be anything else in all of its melancholic sincerity and beauty. Similarly, it authenticates to the honest heart that some things in life are painful and broken and no amount of wishful thinking or positivity will change the past or its heartache. In other words, when life is hard, pretending it’s not, is not an option. Pretending doesn’t work.
It highlights the struggles that are happening for people. There are some great guitar riffs and distortion. It has a verses/chorus composition. The song is a little bit slower to begin, but soon picks up the tempo, it is a great song to sing along because the lyrics are not distorted by the instruments, like you find with some other bands. This song was written by Richie Sambora, Jon Bon Jovi, and Desmond Child.
Music is defined differently for each individual. It is the universal language that speaks to us all, but in different ways. It is one of the few genres that can instantly transport a person back to the past. Music is also an art of sound which expresses ideas, thoughts, and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, and harmony. It is the design of giving structural form and rhythmic pattern to combinations of sounds produce instrumentally and vocally. To me, music brings a sense of calmness, happiness, and peacefulness. Music is the absolute bread of life because it feeds my soul.
Aguilera song is not really about being sad or depression. Her music video and effective use of ethos, pathos, and logo are to help us realize the importance of people around us, especially family. What happens if one day the people we love mot go away? You might live your life thinking about a way that you could had done something more for them. Main thing about the song is that you should cherish every moment you have with your family. Without them, you would not be who you are today. Family is the best and most precious gift in our lives, and it is important to embrace it every
Music; Indefinable by words alone. It is not only something you can hear but what you can feel. It is something your soul is able to reach out and touch. Music also has the power to bring us as humans, together. It is one language spoken by all cultures, sexes, races, age and religions. Music also controls our emotions; it makes us happy, sad, angry, relaxed, etc. We also can express ourselves through music. It can affect our personality.. someone who listens to classical, like Mozart or Bach, all the time is going to be smarter and more intellectual than someone who listens to rap or metal, and someone who listens to more upbeat happier music, like Ska or Swing, is more likely to
