Having to imagine what it would feel like being on the other end of the phone line while my spouse is mid battle, hearing only gunshots and explosions while calling their name with no response, was heart wrenching and riveting. It created such an awful feeling in the gut that resonated through much of the movie. The idea of the movie American sniper was to look inside the life of Americas greatest sniper Kris Kyle. And how he lived his life. In my opinion the film American sniper directed by clint Eastwood achieves its purpose very well because it showed how Kris Kyle lived his life and how they fight the Taliban I think this film would appeal to ages 15-50 because the movie is full of action and it is a good movie.

Liam O’ Flaherty is the author of the short story “The Sniper.” The story is about a soldier in Dubai who is in the middle of a civil war with many dangers around him. He eventually get shot in the arm. In a quick moment he plans an escape in which the enemy thinks he has killed the soldier. In a twist, the soldier actually ends up killing the enemy which turns out to be his brother. In “The Sniper”, Liam O’ Flaherty suggests the horror of war not only by presenting its physical dangers but also by showing its psychological effects.

Klay did not only show believable and moral moments in his book. He also showed a sense of generalization. War has a different meaning to everyone, but the results of war are deaths, injuries and trauma for the majority. “The road kept turning under our wheels, and my eyes kept scanning automatically for anything out of place, signs of digging or suspicious piles of trash. The film “American Sniper”, directed by Clint Eastwood, broke box-office records with a staggering $107 million in opening weekend; despite the controversy surrounding the film, it is films like “American Sniper” that help lessen the bitter taste in America’s mouth. “American Sniper” is a film adaption of Chris Kyle’s autobiography detailing his life and four tours overseas as a Navy SEAL. After opening weekend of this much anticipated film, there were several first hand accounts of movie goers leaving the theater who described their experiences leaving the theater as silent and eerie as opposed to the usual raucous that ensues after a movie has concluded. “There is a battle between good and evil in this world, and we send our very best to fight it, and sometimes evil wins. And those of us who stay home have no idea what it’s like to fight that war. When we get a tiny glimpse of it on a screen, it humbles us.
