The American Revolution was a very important part of history. Without the Revolution, life as we know it may not have been possible. The American Revolution brought about rights and independence, something that as not always given. Many notable events took place during the War for Independence, but there were three major turning points to look at. These three turning points were the Battle of Trenton in 1776, the Battle of Saratoga in 1777, and the Battle of Yorktown in 1781. These three battles were vital to the victory of the Revolution and the creation of the nation that we have today.

The American Revolution would lead one of the greatest countries in the world. A superpower, at the forefront of innovation. It would become an example, a beacon, for freedom, and liberty everywhere. But how much of this was really due to the American Revolution? The American Revolution was truly revolutionary in many ways, including the new ideas of Political Equality of the Classes, Inalienable Rights, and Consent of the Governed.

The American Revolution fundamentally changed American considerably politically because Americans rely on democracy rather than monarchy, socially because the roles of certain social groups experienced a nuance change, and economically because the Americans freed themselves from having to send their raw materials to England and started to manufacture their own products.

The American Revolution was an important sequence of events over a period of time that has affected early American society up to today’s modern society. It all started with the Revolutionary War, which led to the Declaration of Independence from Britain, and in turn created a reason for America to write the Constitution and develop their own government. Ideas of equality became a major point of the Revolution, and although it wasn’t very quick to happen, ideas eventually spread throughout the colonies, giving the equality that poor to middle classes, African American slaves, and women deserved.

The American Revolution, from 1765 to 1783, was a great movement and major changing point for the colonists. The colonists were fed up with all the taxes and unnecessary mistreatment that had been placed on them. The colonists finally had revolted against the British and surprisingly had taken the victory. The colonists were considered underdogs against the very powerful Britain and with much devotion and heart, the colonists pulled out a victory. Taking the victory was a huge turning point because now the colonists were free from British power and were able to form a nation of their own. The wealthy had lots of power and it affected the society a lot. America had created a new government and society, but it led to many problems and protests.

Much like the French Revolution, the American Revolution was brought upon by the people who wanted a change. Growing numbers of immigrants added to the population in the lower and middle classes in the country, making overcrowding and poor conditions. As cities started to grow, the government- located across the ocean- decided to try and make changes, including larger taxes. The people in America did not like the idea of being ruled over by people so far away, so they began their search for new forms of authority. The people looked for independence, and their search led them to a war and the Revolution. As the country became free and independent, more and more changes were made. The Declaration of Independence was signed, and the Bill of Rights was issued. While it was largely political that change came from the American Revolution, it was America's people created, fought, and won the American Revolution, leading to a better life for them all.

The American Revolution was a political separation between Britain and the original Thirteen Colonies. It occurred between the years 1765 and 1783, resulting in a lot of bloodshed and casualties. With tension building between the two powers, the revolution was a battle that formed what America is today. The Boston Tea Party, the Boston Massacre, and the many taxes imposed are factors to what lead the colonists to form together and fight Britain. The reason why America won against its former owner is because of the alliance with France, the knowledge of the terrain, and the determination that the soldiers had.

The American Revolution was the beginning of a new country, and in result, a new people. The society of America was drastically effected, and it became very different from the other european countries. The new thinking of the citizens, and the political leaders resulted in a change in the social, political, and economic make up of American society.

Until 1763 the British government and the colonists had peaceful relationships. The Seven Years War, known in America as the French and Indian War, was a turning point. Although Britain achieved victory and defeated France and its allies in 1763, the war left Britain with debts. British parliament decided to increase taxes in the colonies. The increase in taxes dissatisfied the colonists.

How Revolutionary was the American Revolution? The definition of the word revolutionary is “involving or causing a complete or dramatic change”. According to many documents, The American Revolutionary War was not revolutionary. The American Revolutionary War was a war that went on from 1765 to 1783.

Historians have argued the American Revolution was a result of the political influence of the British, and the colonists were trying to retain their rights. On the other hand, other historians contended that the colonists were more concerned on economic issues implemented by the British government. In conducting some research, I found arguments on the causes that ranged from military, religious, political, and economic interactions between Britain and the colonies. The Revolution developed due to a mesh of complex social, political, and economic factors.

The American Revolution was the struggle by which thirteen colonies won independence from Great Britain, to become what we now know as The United States of America. The American Revolution came about primarily because the colonists had matured. Their interests and goals were so different and distant from those of the mother country. Local politics, practices, social customs, religious beliefs, and economic interests had gone so far from the English ways. The American Revolution had a tremendous impact not only in The United States, but also in Europe and the rest of the world.

The American Revolution was revolutionary by definition because it was successful in bringing about political, economic, and social reform. The colonies fought to be free of the British monarchy and replace it with self-government and with representatives elected by the citizens to govern to the will of the people. This was a radical change in the political stage where the people were ruled by a distant king that had no interest in the welfare of the colonies beyond its enrichment to the crown. The colonies gained an economic benefit from their detachment from England as well. All of the revenue created by the colonies was now their own. The trade restrictions created by the idea of mercantilism were no longer in place. All of the raw materials and natural resources that the colonies supplied England with such as indigo, cotton, tobacco, and rice were now owned by the colonies solely. The new political structure also brought about major changes to the social norms. People of all classes had a role in their own government. The differences between the social classes became a little less prominent since all had a say in the government. The colonies’ revolt from England politicized women and African Americans and even though the major changes for these classes came later in history it is important to recognize that the Revolution was the beginning of these changes. The new government, through the powerful new constitution, opened the door for individual roles to continue

The ideas about government, are one of the major changes that took place during the revolution. Although many people do not see how revolutionary the ideas of government actually were, ending a monarchy government is extremely revolutionary. A picture printed by Andre Bassett, shows multiple men taking down an English statute . This shows how the colonists viewed the old government. For example, the statue represents all of the power that Great Britain has over the colonies, and the colonists are trying to bring it to an end so they are taking down the statue (Document A). The tearing down of the statue helps show that the colonists no longer wanted to tolerate the government under Great Britain. The American Revolution (1775-1783) was a time of great change in America. American men were fighting for their right to be free from an oppressive ruler 3000 miles away. They wanted to have their say about what went on in their own country. America won the Revolution and its freedom, but while this was going on something else was happening. Internally changes were coming about too during all this fighting. The Revolution was the catalyst for women to make progress towards freedom. Women were making economic and political gains to further women's rights.
