Being in a sorority is very rewarding yet can be very time consuming. Each member that is part of a sorority has a huge role to play even if you do not hold a position within the organization. Alpha Sigma Alpha is a national sorority who is heavily involved with community service and their three national philanthropies, St. June Smith, Special Olympics, and Girls on the Run, as well as local philanthropy year after year. This source is located on Alpha Sigma Alpha’s national website that is dedicated towards the sorority’s service and giving. In this section their philanthropic statement states, “Life is not taking in only; it is giving out too. It is giving ourselves - freely - to other people, giving ourselves in comradeship, in understanding, …show more content…
Being one of the biggest attraction in Bloomsburg that only comes once a year it is a huge deal to the residents that live here all year round. The local schools sometimes shuts down for the whole entire week or maybe just for a long weekend. This fair is practically everything you would imagine a state fair would be and they have it all here. You can adopt a puppy, play with farm animals, and whatever you could think you would need they will have it. If your looking for good deals on home decor your best bet is to go when its closer towards the end of the week when the fair is almost over because at that point people do not want to be traveling back home with stuff they brought up and just want to get rid of it. This fair even has all the traditional shows you see in the movies such as the bearded lady, the man with no head, and they even had one named serpent lady all for the cost of 50 cents. Alpha Sigma Alpha devotes their time into this fair every year and withholds two stands, one where you can play darts and the other where you put a quarter down and spin the wheel to see if the arrow lands on the one you picked. They were able to raise up to 2,000 dollars and was equally split and donated towards the S. June Smith Center and Girls on the
Colleges and universities admitted few women students in the 1870s; some administrators and faculty members argued women had inferior minds and could not master mathematics and the classics. Regardless, Dr. Erastus Otis Haven, Syracuse University chancellor and former president of the University of Michigan and Northwestern University maintained that women should receive the advantages of higher education and enrolled his daughter, Frances, at Syracuse.
I believe the purpose of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is to grow and develop women scholastically and to help women reach their goals. This organization is noted for its extensive service, reaching beyond college campuses. The purpose is also to stay dedicated and committed to academic excellence. Women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., not only give back to their community but are also leaders, uniting women to have a positive impact on others. Joining a sisterhood such as Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is a lifelong commitment. Since Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. starts in the collegiate years, the skills you learn can help later on in life. It is also preparation for working with people with different personal and professional backgrounds. Also, to be aware of what is going on around you and how you can make an impact. Young women looking for mentorship can have a positive
Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Incorporated purpose is to be of service to all mankind dealing with critical issues in communities domestically and internationally. What I have grown to understand an envision a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated to be, I accredit largely to the ladies of the Gamma Theta chapter. This has the result of attending many of the chapter’s events during my time at Hampton thus far. One of my favorite events was a screening of a documentary Girls Rising. I learned to appreciate every opportunity to learn and gain knowledge because in some parts of the world girls are restricted from receiving an education. A
Members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated have made everlasting effects on my life. Having mentors in this fraternity allowed me to see how every member feels responsible for improving the communities that they are from. They never hesitate to take the leadership roles that are needed to see change. I would like to become a member of Alpha Phi Alpha because it would allow us to share a brotherhood with great men, it will allow me to make valuable connections with other positive men around the world, and it will help me become the best version of myself. My desire to become a member of this fraternity began my freshmen year after I attended the first informational meeting. At this meeting I was able to speak with members and also learn from them. They each have strong leadership characteristics that allow them to serve on executive boards across campus and they all are high achieving students at Cornell.
National Honors society would be an amazing opportunity for me. I believe I would be a perfect fit
Each year, the National Beta Club sets out to find the most motivated, bright, and involved seniors within the organization. Upon discovering these students, each is named a beta scholar and is rewarded with a scholarship toward pursuing their higher education. The process is highly selective and competitive, with only 256 nationwide being recipients of the honor. This year, Pickens High is proud to announce that one of our own emerges amidst these ranks- Ginny Morris. Through years of hard work and perseverance, Ginny has climbed her way to the top. A salutatorian, senior class secretary, and a Beta Officer, amongst numerous accomplishments, it comes as no surprise that she has earned this prestigious award and scholarship. Congratulations,

Sometimes in the busyness of life many forget the importance of giving back to the community and to others. I’m so grateful that my sorority gave me the opportunity to work with incredible organizations and opened the door to independent chances for me to help others. Always being one who loved doing things for others more so than herself, I cant express how thankful I am that I found a way to continue to in

If I was given the opportunity to join the Beta club I would be the happiest person in the world! I want to join the Beta club because I would meet new people, I would help a lot of people, and I would be caring and have responsibility. If I was to join the Beta club I would take it very seriously. So that way I can work hard. Before I make my decision on being in the Beta club I would think carefully.
They have games you can play at the fair. They have darts, ring toss, duck game, and things of that nature. They have prizes you can receive upon winning. The size of the prize depends on how well you did on the game. I have won the biggest prize of all before, the large stuffed penguin. I won this stuffed penguin playing darts. Every game has different prices and

Greek life – both honor societies as well as social organizations – has always been a meaningful part of my University experience. When I first heard about Sigma Sigma Phi (SSP) during orientation week, I was excited to see what the organization was all about and whether it was a group I could both join and help advance. The various SSP sponsored community service opportunities have been an invaluable part of my first-year experience and have allowed me to learn more about the organization, get to know more of my classmates, meet second year students, and of course effect a positive impact on those around me. I look forward to continuing to take part in these opportunities and contributing however I can to the organization.
Before coming to SMU I was convinced that I would be a doctor. Obviously I knew that would be hard and that I will be pushed both physically and mentally, but I thought that I could withstand it. I didn’t pay any mind to the fact that I couldn’t look at blood and that even talking about needles made me pale. I also paid no mind to the fact that my whole life I have loved learning about different cultures and their history and that I had a huge passion for psychology and helping people with mental illnesses.
The reason why the atomic mass of an atom is a decimal number is because every atom has isotopes . The atomic mass of an atom contains a different number of protons and neutrons. If an atom has a different number of neutrons, the atomic mass will be different for each atom. The mass of the atom is measured in AMU’s which is atomic mass unit because it has an extremely small mass. In order to measure these tiny atoms, we know that one amu is equal to 1.66054 X 10^ -24 g. The way the elements are arranged on the periodic table is by the order of increasing atomic number, which includes the mass number of protons and neutrons.
