I am an 18 year old hispanic female. I am part of the middle class and am a republican with no religion. Although I am hispanic most people initially think I am only caucasian. I am short with a curvy body. Most of the time my curvy figure and caucasian appearance tend to make it easier to get my way when it comes to men. Although it helps me sometimes, sometimes it also hurts me because all they see me as is a girl with a figure. My age, gender, and political party give a disadvantage. Because I am only five feet tall people tend to not take me as seriously as I would like them to. Being a republican most people believe that I am closed minded and that I might not understand a certain point of view, which is completely wrong. If for
A political party is defined as a group of people who come together to contest elections and hold power in the government. They agree on policies and programs for the society with a view to promote their supporters' interests. In democracies, political parties are elected by the electorate to run a government. The United States is a considered a two-party system, with its two most powerful parties being the Republican Party and the Democratic Party.
One of my self-defeating emotional patterns is that I worry that people stereotype me because of my race. I remember I had this emotional patterns a bit differently when I was in my own country, “IRAN”. When I was in Iran I worried that people stereotype me because of my religious beliefs. Since my religion was minority, many people don't like to hang out with me or in some cases they threaten me to change my religious beliefs or els. Although my fear was not unreasonable at the time, having this self-defeating emotional patterns crushed my self-esteem and stopped me to achieve my goals. After cogitating about the undesirable effects it can have on my life I start fighting this patterns. Unfortunately ever since I moved to the U.S I worry about
In high school, students separate themselves into different groups. There are the cool ones, smart ones, weird ones, stoners, and several other groups that students separate themselves into. Although, all the students are equals, they do not see themselves as such due to their labels. The voting citizens of America do the same. Americans have six major political parties that they separate themselves into. Each party has different beliefs, although some may have similar ideas.
“The Republican Party was founded in 1854 by a group of renegade Democrats, Whigs, and political independents who opposed the expansion of Slavery into new U.S. territories and states. What began as a single-issue, independent party became a major political force in the United States. Six years after the new party was formed, Republican nominee Abraham Lincoln won the U.S. presidential election. The Republican Party and its counterpart, the Democratic Party, became the mainstays of the nation's de facto two-party system.” As stated in the free dictionary’s definition of the republican party. The Republican and Democrat parties are opposites on almost every decision they come to. The Republican party is more small government whereas the Democratic party is pro big government.
The Republicans have selected me, Arthur Chester, to be Garfield’s running mate. The Republican Party has favored Civil Service and I have decided to take part in this. In fact, I have considered not being nominated for a second term; in order to satisfy the American public. However, I know that a few may love me for this and others may not, but I am not just doing this for myself, but for the people.
For many years since 1879 citizens of the United States wait in line to vote for the next great president who will help the country stand tall for another four years. But the mistake doesn’t lie in who you vote for, but what you are voting for and supporting. We sometimes ask ourselves, “what does each party do?” or “what are their beliefs for our country?”
immigrants of being drug dealers, rapists, murderers, and criminals overall. “There is a very real criminal component utilizing the dislocations caused by massive immigration to cover crimes of every variety, from drug trafficking to murder. This does not [account] for irresponsible driving habits that also take a toll of American citizens. This writer has two friends in two separate incidents that were killed by errant aliens. In both case, the aliens fled across the border to avoid vehicular manslaughter charges” (Thompson). The reality behind the Republican Party´s arguments against immigration is discrimination and racism. “They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists” (Trump). Their statements are not based on evidence or statistics, but are huge generalizations.
The government and the Catholic Church have not always had a great correspondence. Out of the many parties that have been created for the government, through time, the Democrats and the Republicans have taken precedence. The Democrats lean more to the liberal side of things, while the Republicans lean more towards the conservative side. The Democrat party is the oldest existing party, and called the ‘party of the people.’ The Republican Party came into the existence just before the Civil War, mostly because of their stance for the abolition of slavery and their candidate’s win, Abraham Lincoln. Both parties have their pros and cons, and both parties have their problems with the Catholic Church.
terms of demography and territory in the Ethiopian state, were targeted for destruction, and instead forced to glorify the identities and cultures of the oppressive group (xxx, xxx).
The great aspect that Liberals are moving towards are Fairness for the Middle class, and Canada child benefit. They provide money in the pocket of the middle class to save, unlike Conservative’s, Liberals are helping bring back the strengths in our economy. Conservative have failed to recognize the difficulties the middle class have been facing the past three years, well the liberal have made it their top priorities.
American is different from other countries because it has a two-party-system, in where the third party is left behind. Hence, the two parties are Republicans and Democrats, both parties have a realistic opportunity to compete for the presidency. It is hard for the third party to even appear in the voting ballot because there are some restriction that prevent them. The Constitution is the main reason why the third party cannot make it to the ballot. The constitution implemented a system called electoral college, in where the candidate must earn 270 electoral votes to be elected as president. Since, most of the states representatives are either republican or democrat. The third party has no chance against this type of monopoly. On the other
How does America see me? they see me as a white, rich and privileged blonde. They see me as someone who is educated and well rounded. They see me as someone with a future. They see me as someone who does not get in trouble, ever. They see me as someone who lives a lavish life. I am seen as someone who has is figured out. People can assume I look like someone who has bent the system in favor of them. They assume that since I am blonde that I am either incredibly stupid, or i am pure genius. I am seen as a white American with no care in politics. They see me as someone who has it all. Since I am a woman I am dainty and weak. They assume that even though I am educated, I will never be the same level as a man. They see me as someone who is incompetent
What people do not see about me is that I am Latina but I am Salvadorian not Mexican. I am not really confident. I have my insecurities. I have insecurities about the way I look and what people might think
I’m mixed. I don’t have a certain race I identify the most with and I often find it difficult being so diverse when both sides of my family want me to be more than the other. When society wants me to be more than the other. I spent a lot of time with my mom’s side of the family growing up, Creole, African American, Native American. Most them are tall and dark-skinned, which is quite different from my olive skin and short figure. I look like an outsider when standing next to them and get asked if I am the friend of the group. I used to get mad when people pointed out my differences, how could they just assume? But the world is built on accusations. People find it surprising when I tell them I grew up listening to hard hip-hop music, eating fried
In my opinion, I think that each political orientation has some sort of pro and con about it, which makes it hard to choose just one. I think that the political orientation that would best solve our social problems in the United States is libertarianism rather than any other. The main reason I think that libertarians could help is because, “they believe that the less government we have is better because if we allow the government to help solve problems than we are creating a larger government” (Crone, 30). I think that there could be too much government, which is why many things in our political system never get solved because; there are so many people with different opinions and views weighing on the subject. Another reason I think that it
