Abortion Even though a lot of people use abortion for a way to solve problems, are lives really taken? Everyone has their own opinion about this topic, but to me abortion is your own personal choice if you want to have one or not. I believe that we should keep abortion around because many cases come up where people are in serious need for one. I am not saying that abortion is the greatest thing in the world to have, but I also do not consider it murder. From my point of view I see abortion in two different sides: one is where it is wrong for people to take advantage of it; two some people are just not ready. Some people consider it murder, but how can you kill something that has …show more content…
I mean that not having the child may make you think about what your life would have been like with it, but most of the time it would have made it harder on them and the child. From the things people have shared with me about this subject it seems that it was more of a relief rather than a problem. How would it be on a girl’s life if they had to have that child? Think about being in school where there is a opportunity for a good future than all of a sudden everything you had going for you is taken away because now you have to quit school, find a job, and the only thing that matters is your baby. I do not think I could handle that, could you? There are also many emotions that come up when mentioning this topic: pain, relief, sadness, confusion. Many females these days do not let their parents know what is going on in their sex life for various reasons. Let’s just think about a girl getting pregnant and not knowing what to do. There is the option of running away, suicide, not telling anyone, or just going through the hardships of letting everyone know and the problems that coincide with that. Now either way you look at it there is a bad outcome, this is where abortion is a thing that helps this sort of situation. This lady I knew had an abortion at the age of 16 and she tested the fact of maybe
There are many limitations valued when it comes to the right of abortion. The news media still outlines the pros and cons of anti-abortion rights in certain-states-to soon, the entire country. My perspectives on the issue of abortion have been entitled from it to never be banned among citizen’s rights. The reproduction of pregnancy has been emphasized heavily on a mother’s decision to abort their child, but the father of the child plays an active role since he considers to that particular title. Through this current issue, majority of the people against abortion do not seem to have an open mind to how much it primarily affects the decision of the mother amongst her own views of considering abortion.
How would you feel if someone had the final say in whether or not you could live or die? Imagine not having any say in whether or not you are allowed to have a life. Now you can imagine how a baby feels since they do not have a choice in their mother’s womb. If a woman decides to abort her baby, the baby cannot do anything about their life being forcibly taken away from them. Their whole future is demolished in a single instant before it even begins. This is why I believe abortion is wrong no matter the reasoning behind why you’re doing it.
To pro-choicers, human life begins later in gestation or at birth. They view abortion as a civil rights matter-a decision that should be left up to an informed woman and her physician.(www.religioustolerance.org/abortion.htm) On the other hand, the pro-life believe that the life of a baby begins long before he or she is born. A new individual human being begins growing in the mother=s uterus at fertilization, and if the baby=s life is not interrupted, he or she will someday become an adult man or woman.(www.nrcl.org/abortion/wdlb/wdlb.html)
Perhaps one of the most controversial issues debated between lawmakers and legislatures is abortion. Disputes concerning abortion began during the 1820s. By 1965, with a few exceptions, abortion had been made illegal in all states. Abortions were only permitted when the fetus was deformed, or if birth of the baby would harm the mother’s life. All of this changed however in 1973 during the landmark Supreme Court Case of Roe v. Wade which legalized abortion. The Supreme Court recognized that it is solely a mother’s choice whether to become a parent. The court also recognized that an issue as significant as child bearing warrants the highest level of constitutional protection. According to the Court, a
Abortion is one of the most controversial and talked about topics of our time. It is discussed in classrooms, work places and even on the Internet. Abortion is defined as the termination of pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in or closely followed by the death of an embryo or fetus. This definition includes accidental abortion such as, miscarriage and stillbirths. But this is not what is being debated. People want to know if abortion is ethical, if the fetus can feel pain, and when it is more human than non-human. These questions are very difficult to answer and may never be answered in our lifetime. But one thing we as humans do know is that we have opinions, ranging from completely
In today's society, there are countless numbers of reproductive issues that are drastically progressing in which making the thought of having a baby hard. Problems that would soon lead to abortions from the lack of wanting a baby, miscarriages from smoking and drinking, making for an unsafe pregnancy, and as simple as stressing yourself can become your main problems. In some instances, some women come encounter with unexpected pregnancies. Some couples set their minds on the idea of not having a child at the time because of their money issues. While being financially unstable, the lack of wanting the other person's
Abortion has been one of the topics of hot debate for the last three decades in our nation. Since the Roe v/s Wade decision in 1973, some Americans feel the need to ponder whether aborting fetuses is a moral action. On the one hand, some people feel that abortion should be legal because a woman has a right to choose whether she wants to continue a pregnancy or not. It's her body. On the other hand, some feel that fetuses have no advocates and deserve a right to live, so it is immoral to abandon their rights and kill them. This issue is not only at the center of political debate, but philosophical debate as well. In this paper, I will examine and critique Mary Anne Warren's On the Moral and Legal Status of Abortion, where she examines the
“The first aim was to provide an explorative description of adolescent’s emotional reactions and cognitive responses to an unplanned pregnancy, since this aspect is not included in contemporary research. The second aim of this study was to identify adolescent personal attitudes toward parenthood. The third aim was to evaluate the role played by (a) adolescents’ personal attitudes toward parenthood, and (b) adolescents’ positive and negative attitudes toward continuing the pregnancy or having an abortion in predicting the final choice.”
As a Christian I view abortion to be of a murderous act, but I am definitely on the fence of this controversial issue. I am in no way telling you to never have sex again, but to simply take the proper steps to preventing an unwanted pregnancy.
Abortion is one of the most controversial issues in the world. Even in countries like the US where it is legal, the issue remains debatable at political, religious and philosophical grounds. Pro-abortionists claim that abortion is a matter of women’s right while anti-abortionists claim it is a matter of ending a life. Whereas pro-abortionists such as feminist would term a pregnancy as unwanted, religious anti-abortionists would term it as a blessing that must be maintained. Pro-abortion individuals claim that a fetus or an embryo is not a human being that has form hence if a woman decides to terminate a pregnancy, the act does not amount to murder. Opponents of abortion on the other hand term an embryo as simply a baby with organs and the
The father of the child may decide he’s not ready for children and leaves the mother as well. Imagine yourself being sixteen or seventeen and pregnant all alone; how would you feel? A teenage girl may feel like she can’t handle a child on her own, so to her abortion may be the best idea. The girl doesn’t want the baby to be brought up poor or neglected (Berlfein 88). Teenage girls who think like this really needs guidance. They also have to learn to take action from their mistakes. The government helps in different ways such as welfare, which is financial support they may need.
Abortion has been a controversial issue in the United States culture and politics. The history of abortion goes back to many years before 1973. It has been performed legally from the time that the new settlers arrived in the United States. It was allowed and broadly advertised till mid 1800s. Thereafter the states began to pass several laws in order to make abortion illegal nationwide. One of their concerns for passing these laws was the general population which would mostly be consisted of the children of the newly arrived immigrants. In 1973 with the passage of Roe v. Wade, U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion in the United States under the fourteenth amendment to the Constitution. The passage named after Jane Roe who was a 21 years old
From the years 1981-2001, 467,910 people died due to AIDS (“Cumulative AIDS”). In comparison, in the year 2000 alone, 857,000 babies were killed (Robinson). More babies are killed in one year from abortions alone than all of the AIDS cases combined in the past twenty years. So why are people fighting to keep abortions legal? In this upcoming election, we have two choices. President Bush is the pro-life presidential candidate. Bush says abortions should be banned except in the cases of rape, incest or when the mother’s life is in danger. He says that he is personally against all forms of abortion but does not think that the country is ready for a constitutional amendment banning all
Being a teen and pregnant isn’t easy now on. Got pregnant unexpectedly at a young age. Still in high school and not working when she got pregnant. A year had pass. A man that she need to call a father didn’t give her enough support and kicking her out of the house after knowing that she was pregnant. Damn that father doesn’t have a heart if he deserve to be call a dad. In the other hand, the ex-boyfriend parents was also a pain in the butt for her, the baby and the baby’s daddy. Her father and the parents of the baby’s daddy thought that the first option to take was abortion. They wanted her to abort the baby because she was too young and didn’t have a financial support to raise the baby. There was nothing more isolating that being pregnant at a young age in a society that everywhere is judgment and the first option that comes to their mind is abortion.
Whenever a family member dies, everyone is affected. It would be no different than a harmless child losing their lives. The thought of it never really goes away. It is always there, in the back of your mind, waiting for the chance to pop back up again. Even with time it will never ease, the thought of what you did. It compounds tragedy. Sometimes, the circumstances of a woman becoming pregnant, aren’t so great. Maybe she was raped or the baby has been diagnosed with a defect or complications. Although, one tragedy is not to be answered with another. They must now be forced into a spur of the moment decision, to take the life a child instead of giving them a chance to defy the odds. After an abortion, the rate of marital breakups and relationship dissolution is anywhere from 40 to 75 per cent, often related to the breakdown of intimacy
