This reach paper is going to evaluate the two articles by appraising the quality of papers and finding out the most appropriate to Mariana’s conditions. Mariana is a university student and a single mother of a 18month old daughter who is an asthmatic patient. Marina finds hard to make friends at university and also suffered from some health conditions. Marina does not have any sufficient family support and she leaves her daughter in a child care Centre while she is in the University. Mariana is stressed and needs some help to relieve her stress which can improve her mood. This research essay will analyze both articles and will try to evaluate that which article is closer to Marina’s condition on the bases of evidence base practice. Evidence-based practice is a process of making any clinical decision on the bases of evidence and can be combined with patients’ values and experience of clinical expertise. The essay will firstly describe, analyses the paper 1 by Haaren et al., 2015 and then pilot study by Kim et al., 2013. In both scenario this essay will examine the strengths and weakness of the articles and then using Evidence hierarchies the most relevant article will be discussed with explanation Paper 1: - An abstract of paper 1 gives overall view of the study, method of study conducted, selected participants and their numbers. It also provides the evidence that how the data and results were collected. The abstract is showing the objectives and have
The Evidence-Based Practice (EBP)is the systematic decision-making process to improve the work environment and clinical practices to get better quality patient outcomes. The EBP is the process where data collection, organizing, processing and implementing of the research findings are the critical points for the right results. One of the essential aspects of interest of using EBP research for nursing practice is that it gives the highest conceivable quality care and cost-effective treatment possible. It helps to fill the gaps and weaknesses in patient care so that patients will get better outcomes. It also blends the evidence and clinical experience to provide better patients experiences. It is essential as it helps to increase patient safety and improve quality of life. It also helps to reduce various medical complications and keeps the healthcare costs low.
In response to the question set, I will go into detail of the study, consisting of the background, main hypotheses, as well the aims, procedure and results gathered from the study; explaining the four research methods chosen to investigate,
Evidence Based Practice is crucial to support care provided to patient. It is imperative to get evidence base on proven clinical practice that provides valuable insights about human health and illness as per Polit and Beck (2017). The researcher must pick a topic to be research on and A PICOT question formulated. These questions help as a guidance on the research. The researcher then check to see what can be retrieve that are of importances to topic. In most case narrowing of the questions may help. The levels of evidence are important because it help with identifying hierarchy of evidence. The higher the Hierarchy of evidence the better evidence base information.
The purpose of this paper is to display my knowledge of constructing an annotated bibliography. This annotated bibliography consists of the five articles from journal set A. The annotation covers evidence based practices and issues with the field of psychology such as lack of services, cost and, quality of care. Each annotation addresses the strength of the article, the purpose of the article, the relevance to the field of psychology and its uniqueness. The paper is a very brief synopsis of the article as well as a critique. It is not as concise as a literature review.
The background and significance of this study are properly presented in the introduction. The research question is presented at the end of the
Summarises major points from the review of literature, states rationale and aim of the study, ends with hypothesis(es).
Data used in this study is from a previously prepared collection for a different study and hence does not require any instruments. Use of Microsoft Excel and graphpad, an online software, helped in calculating the results and analyzing the data.
However, the pitfalls of the study are also included in this section as well as the factors that limited the study. This section should however, compare the results with those from other similar studies. Yet for this paper, that part was lacking. Besides, the paper discussed the potential limitations to the research as well as the strengths of the study (Viktrup, 2002). The study’s implication is also inclusive and is clearly structured and helpful. Finally, the paper had a conclusion that contained a summary and the recommendations.
The big idea of “How to Read a Paper: The Basics of Evidence-Based Medicine” is that it describes the different types of clinical research reporting, and explains how to critically appraise the publications. The book provides the tools to find and evaluate the literature, and implement the findings in an evidence-based, patient-centered way. It is written for anyone in the health care professions who has little or no knowledge of evidence-based medicine; it provides a clear understanding of the concepts and how to put them into practice at the basic, clinical level.
The overall presentation and final summary of this study are logically reported with concisely writing content. Although it has the word limitation for an abstract, the content is easy to understand. The title of the study was accurately describing the type of study, primary variables, and target population. For increasing feasibility, the authors should explore the participant’s opinion about the
The title of the article is clear and concise. It is only ten words long and clearly states the nature of the study. The population under study is identified, and the issue being considered is included in the title as well. All of these factors contribute in making the title of the article effective.
The main articles used in this study are summarized in the evidence table (Table 4) in the appendix section of this paper. The evidence table was set up to visualize the data from different sources obtained during the research process. The data synthesis divides the various numbers of researches distinctly based on the main author, publication date, study design, study population, data collection method and finally the outcome/results of the study.
According to the author, the data collected for this article was obtained by systematic random samples during a 4-week reporting period. The
Additionally, the authors certainly expressed what they established in their research. The introduction provided sufficient information concerning the subjects. Furthermore, the authors provided in-depth information on how they selected the control sample.
The objective of this chapter is to describe the procedures used in the analysis of the data and present the main findings. It also presents the different tests performed to help choose the appropriate model for the study. The chapter concludes by providing thorough statistical interpretation of the findings.
