(Turner, 2017) In order for people to bounce back from difficult circumstances and maintain their health, crisis theory and resilience theory are essential. Triggering Event: Events in Helen’s life that lead to this crisis moment are feelings of being alone, having no one to support her emotionally or physically. Helen feels inadequate as a wife, mother, and caregiver. Stress Reaction: Helen taking and working to keep everything in order with her mother-in-law, her children and marriage makes her feel, not productive, but more alone and depressed than ever before. Her self-esteem is at an all-time low. Crisis Peak: When Alec, Helen’s son is asked to take over care of Magda by John. This does not help Helen in any capacity because it just adds to her stress because she suspects Alec is stealing Magda’s pills and falling back into addiction. Crisis Resolution: Helen Petrakis has a variety of assets and resources, all of which will help her get through the crisis's reintegration stage. She has earned her high school graduation, has done a decent job of raising her family, and has established a robust support structure inside the Greek Orthodox Church, where she is a member of the religious community. Even though she is going through a challenging time in her life, Helen is continuing to fulfil the commitments she has to her family even though she is under a lot of pressure. She is also able to multitask since she takes care of her immediate family while also seeing to her mother-in-law as she is obligated to do. Helen also benefits from having both a close-knit Greek Orthodox family as well as a supportive Greek community, both of which are significant sources of strength and resilience. Ensure that the intervention encourages a resilient response. As a social worker, I would intervene to help Helen Petrakis achieve the reintegration stage of the crisis by using a variety of resiliency-promoting interventions with the goal of assisting her in
