(forms Platoro Reservoir in NW), Rio De Lapinos, and La Jura Creek (forms La Jura Reservoir in W center). Sheep, cattle; wheat, hay, oats, barley, potatoes, vegetables. San Luis Valley extends N-S. Includes part of San Juan Mts. and parts of Rio Grande. Small part of San Isabel Natl. Forest to W. Formed 1861.
