Rich agr. area (wheat, barley, corn, soybeans, hay, alfalfa, apples, peaches; cattle, hogs); noted for stock raising (esp. horses, in Warrenton sect.) and dairying; oak, hickory, and pine timber. Appalachian Trail follows NW boundary. Sky Meadows State Park in far N. Vint Hill Farm Military Reservation in E, part of Quantico Marine Corps Base in SE. Formed 1759.
