Cacapon Mountain
 
 
Cacapon Mountain (kuh-KAI-puhn), ridge (c.2,000 ft/610 m), Hampshire and Morgan cos., NE W.Va., in Appalachian Mts. and E. Panhandle of W.Va. From point 8 mi/12.9 km NNE of Capon Bridge, extends c.16 mi/26 km NNE to the Potomac R. SE of Great Cacapon. Rises to 2,650 ft/808 m near S end, at Va. state line; Cacapon R. runs along W foot. Most of mt. in Cacapon State Park (c.6,115 acres/2,475 ha), with bridle and foot trails; observation points; and facilities for swimming, fishing, camping, and sports.
