Grand Haven
 
 
Grand Haven, city (1990 pop. 11,951), Ottawa co., SW Mich., 12 mi/19 km S of Muskegon, 32 mi/51 km WNW of Grand Rapids (in commuting distance of both cities), at the mouth of the Grand R.; 43°03'N 86°13'W. It is a port on L. Michigan that ships sand and gravel. Mfg. (fabricated metal prods., paper prods., consumer goods); popular resort area. Annual Coast Guard festival. Municipal Airport to SE; Tri-City Historical Mus., Grand Haven Ski Bowl, and Grand Haven State Park on L. Michigan in town; P.J. Hoffmaster State Park to NE (Muskegon co.). Inc. 1867.
