Carriacou
 
 
Carriacou (KA-ruh-KOO), island (13 sq mi/34 sq km; 1991 pop. 4,595), S Grenadines, largest isl. of the group, dependency of Grenada in West Indies, 30 mi/48 km NE of St. George’s, Grenada; 7 mi/11.3 km long, up to 3 mi/4.8 km wide; 12°30'N 61°27'W. Hilly, indented isl. Rises to 980 ft/299 m. Grows cotton and limes. Main settlement is Hillsborough, on W coast.
