| Bogue Sound (BOG), Carteret co., E N.C., waterway sheltered from the Atlantic Ocean by Bogue Isl. sand barrier; c.30 mi/48 km long E-W, 2 mi/3.2 km wide; connected with ocean by Bogue Inlet at W end, Beaufort Inlet at E end. Bridged in E bet. Morehead City and Atlantic Beach and in W to Cedar Point. Intracoastal Waterway passes through length of sound. |
