Fort Saint James, village, central B.C., Canada, on E shore of Stuart L., 70 mi/113 km NW of Prince George; 54°26'N 124°15'W. Trading post; lumbering; stock raising. Est. 1806 by North West Company, it was taken over (1821) by Hudson’s Bay Company.
