Glynn, county (423; 1990 pop. 62,496), SE Ga.; Brunswick; 31°13'N 81°29'W. Bounded E by the Atlantic, NE by Altamaha R., SW by Little Satilla R.; includes St. Simons, Little St. Simons, and Jekyll isls. Coastal plain fishing shrimp, conch, crabs; forestry; cattle, dairying. mfg. of seafood prods. at Brunswick. Federal Law Enforcement Training Center located here. Area made famous by Sidney Lanier’s poem “Marshes of Glynn.” Home of the 1995 Golden Isles Bowl Classic Championship (football). Formed 1777.
