Azusa
 
 
Azusa (ah-ZOO-sah), city (1990 pop. 41,333), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 20 mi/32 km ENE of downtown Los Angeles, in the San Gabriel valley; 34°08'N 117°55'W. Drained by San Gabriel R, which forms Morris and San Gabriel reservoirs to NE. Residential and industrial city in a citrus-fruit-growing area. Mfg. (aerospace and aircraft navigation equip., baggage handling vehicles, industrial controls, electronic equip., fabricated metal prods., machinery, furniture, chemicals, optical instruments, lubricating oils, transportation equip., molded rubber goods, plastic prods., ordnance accessories, foods; aluminum foundry). Has a large Mex.-Amer. pop. Seat of Azusa Pacific Col. Angeles Natl. Forest, including San Gabriel Wilderness Area, to N. Inc. 1898.
