Dale Hollow Lake
 
 
Dale Hollow Lake, reservoir (48 sq mi/124 sq km), N Tenn. and S Ky., on Obey R., 7 mi/11 km above its mouth, in foothills of Cumberland Mts., 4 mi/6.4 km E of Celina; c.50 mi/80 km long; 36°32'N 85°27'W. Max. capacity 1,706,000 acre-ft. Has 2 arms, E (East Fork) and SE (Wolf Creek). Formed by Dale Hollow Dam (concrete, straight gravity construction; 200 ft/61 m high), built (1943) by Army Corps of Engineers for flood control and power generation.
