Concho, county (993 sq mi/2,572 sq km; 1990 pop. 3,044), W central Texas, on N Edwards Plateau; Paint Rock; 31°19'N 99°51'W. Elev. c.1,600 ft/488 m–2,100 ft/640 m. Bounded NE by Colorado R. (forms L. O.H. Ivie); drained by Concho R. and Brady and Kickapoo creeks. Livestock raising (sheep, goats, cattle); wool, mohair marketed; some irrigated agr. (wheat, grain sorghum, cotton). Oil and gas, stone. Formed 1858.
