Berry Islands, archipelago and district (14 sq mi/36 sq km; 1990 pop. 628), NW Bahama Isls.; group of numerous cays on NE edge of the Great Bahama Bank, N of Andros Isl., 140 mi/225 km E of Miami (Fla.), and 35 mi/56 km NW of Nassau, extending in large curve c.50 mi/80 km bet. 25°20'N and 25°50'N. Some agr. (coconuts, sisal; livestock). Surrounding waters teem with fish.
