Cayuga Lake
 
 
Cayuga Lake (kai-YOO-guh), W central N.Y.; 38 mi/61 km long, 1 mi/1.6 km–3.5 mi/5.6 km wide; 42°45'N 76°44'W. Longest of the Finger Lakes. It is connected by canal and by the Seneca R. with the Barge Canal to the N. Cornell Univ. and Wells Col. overlook Cayuga’s steep banks. Near the S end of the lake are Taughannock Falls, 215 ft/66 m high.
