Crowley’s Ridge
 
 
Crowley’s Ridge (KRO-leez), SE Mo. and NE Ark., long narrow ridge (c.180 mi/290 km long, 2 mi/3.2 km–12 mi/19 km wide) extending S from Scott co., Mo., to Phillips co., Ark., just W of Helena. Highest point c.250 ft/76 m above surrounding alluvial plain. Rich fruit-growing region; loess-capped; contains many fossil beds. Crowley’s Ridge State Park (est. 1934) is on W slope near Walcott, Ark. Outlyer of Ozark Plateau.
