(forms Miss. state line); drained by Boeuf R. and Bayou Macon. Mfg. at Lake Village and Endoras. As river changes its course, the state line remains straight, creating oxbow “pockets” of territory of opposing states on both sides of river. L. Chicot oxbow “pocket” was created before the state line was drawn. Includes L. Chicot State Park, in E by Mississippi R. (resort). Agr. includes rice, cotton, wheat, soybeans; cattle; lumber milling; catfish farming. Formed 1823.
