Fentress (FEN-tris), county (499; 1990 pop. 14,669), N Tenn.; Jamestown; 36°23'N 84°56'W. In the Cumberlands; drained by forks of Obey and Cumberland rivers. Includes part of Dale Hollow Reservoir. Lumbering (hardwoods), agr. (corn, tobacco, fruit, vegetables), dairying, livestock raising. Oil and gas; bituminous-coal mines, dimension sandstone. Formed 1823.
