Black Mesa, tableland, 7,000 ft/2,134 m, Apache and Navajo cos., NE Ariz., in Navajo and Hopi Indian Reservation. Forms NE-facing escarpment. Bituminous coal deposits. Ruins of anc. Pueblo Indian fort found here. Hopi Indian pueblos in SW. Yale Point (8,050 ft/2,454 m), on E flank, is highest elev.
