Albany River
 
 
Albany River, 610 mi/982 km long, W Ont., Canada; rising in L. St. Joseph; flowing generally E into James Bay, near Fort Albany. The Kenogami and Ogoki rivers are its chief tributaries. The river, named for the duke of York and Albany, later James II, was long an important fur-trading route.
