Glenwood, city (1990 pop. 4,571), Mills co., SW Iowa, on Keg Creek and 17 mi/27 km SSE of Council Bluffs, Mo. R. valley to W; 41°02'N 95°44'W. In grain and livestock area; RR junction to SW at Pacific Jct. Mfg. (plastic prods., food). Glenwood State Hosp. and School (1876). Flooding occurred here in 1993. Founded by Mormons as Rushville; renamed Coonsville in 1852 and Glenwood in 1853; inc. 1857.
