Alcova Reservoir
 
 
Alcova Reservoir (al-KO-vuh), Natrona co., central Wyo., on North Platte R., 30 mi/48 km SW of Casper; 6 mi/9.7 km long; 42°33'N 106°42'W. Formed by Alcova Dam (earthfill; 265 ft/81 m high), built (1938) for flood control, irrigation, and water supply as unit in Kendrick project for land reclamation. Water diverted through Casper Canal to Casper area.
