Fort Yates, village (1990 pop. 183), Sioux co., S N.Dak., on Missouri R. (L. Oahe Reservoir), and 50 mi/80 km SSE of Bismarck; 46°05'N 100°37'W. Livestock, grain. Agency hq. for Standing Rock Indian Reservation (N. and S.Dak.). Sitting Bull burial site nearby. Tribal casino, tribal community col. Mountain/Central time zone boundary, which follows Missouri R. to N and S, skirts around the village to W, putting it in Central zone, while remainder of Indian reservation is in Mountain zone.
