Ciudad Serdán (syoo-DAHD ser-DAHN), city (1990 pop. 17,273) and township, Chalchicomula de Sesma municipio, Puebla, central Mexico, near W foot of Pico de Orizaba, 50 mi/80 km E of Puebla, on Mexico Highway 144; 18°59'N 97°26'W. Elev. 8,333 ft/2,540 m. RR junction. Wheat- and corn-growing center; livestock raising; textile milling; salt quarrying. Sometimes Serdán.
