| Goldcreek, village (1990 pop. 15), Powell co., W central Mont., on the Clark Fork R., at mouth of small Gold Creek, and 16 mi/26 km NW of Deer Lodge. Gold is still mined from Gold Creek area to SW, in Flint Creek Range, near alleged first gold discovery (c.1856) in Mont. Site of the spike driven in 1883 completing a RR line connecting the E and W coasts. |
