Cayman Brac
 
 
Cayman Brac, island (12.85 sq mi/33.28 sq km; 1989 pop. 1,441) of Cayman Isls., Br. crown colony, West Indies, easternmost of the group, separated by narrow channel from Little Cayman isl. (W), and 75 mi/121 km ENE of Grand Cayman isl.; 19°45'N 79°50'W; c.11 mi/18 km long, 1 mi/1.6 km wide, rising to 130 ft/40 m. Resorts at Tiara Beach and Brac Reef Beach. Large caves in the limestone cliff running down the center of the isl. are open to visitors and are still used as hurricane shelters.
