Discovery Harbour
 
 
Discovery Harbour, small bay on N side of Lady Franklin Bay, near its entrance on Robeson Channel, NE Ellesmere Isl., Franklin Dist., N.W.T., Canada; 81°44'N 64°45'W. First entered by Nares, whose expedition vessel Discovery wintered here, 1875–1876. Greely established his expedition hq. and meteorological station, Fort Conger, at head of inlet, 1881; it was also one of principal bases of Peary’s expedition, 1898–1902. Visited 1934–1935 by Oxford Univ. Ellesmere Land Expedition. Entrance is protected by small Bellot Isl.
