| Chilkoot Inlet (CHIL-koot), SE Alaska, NNW arm of Lynn Canal, NNW of Juneau; 20 mi/32 km long; 59°15'N 135°20'W. Extends from 12 mi/19 km SSE of Haines to Chilkoot. N of Haines, Taiya Inlet extends 12 mi/19 km NNE to Skagway. Route to Chilkoot Pass and Yukon during Klondike gold rush in 1890s. |
