Ashley, county (939 sq mi/2,432 sq km; 1990 pop. 24,319), SE Ark.; Hamburg; 33°11'N 91°46'W. Bounded S by La. line, W by Saline and Ouachita rivers (Felsenthal Lock and Dam, impounds L. Jack Lee); drained by Bayou Bartholomew. Agr. (cotton, rice, wheat, soybeans; hay; cattle). Mfg., processing industries at Crossett. Part of Felsenthal Natl. Wildlife Refuge in W; part of Lower Ouachita Wildlife Management Area; Overflow Natl. Wildlife Refuge in SE. Formed 1849.
