Chilkat Inlet (CHIL-kat), SE Alaska, NW arm of Lynn Canal, NNW of Juneau; 15 mi/24 km long; 59°07'N 135°23'W. Extends from point 12 mi/19 km SSE of Haines to mouth of Chilkat R. During 1890s it was the route to Chilkat Pass and Dalton Trail leading to the Klondike region. Chilkat Range extends on the inlet.
