Includes the Helderbergs and part of the Catskills (resorts). Dairying, farming (hay, vegetables, horticultural crops); cattle and calves, lamb and sheep raising. Extensive mfg. at Albany, Watervliet, Cohoes (ranks 3rd in the state in numbers employed in mfg). Formed 1683; named in honor of James Stuart, Duke of York and Albany.
