Blackford, county (165 sq mi/427 sq km; 1990 pop. 14,067), E Ind.; Hartford City; 40°28'N 85°19'W. Livestock; corn, soybeans, oats. Gas and oil wells; stone quarries. Mfg. at Hartford City and Montpelier. Drained by Salamonie R. and small Lick Creek. Formed 1838.
