Ashtabula, Lake (ash-tuh-BYOO-luh), reservoir, Barnes and Griggs cos., E N.Dak., on Cheyenne R., 9 mi/14.5 km NNW of Valley City; c.20 mi/32 km long; 47°02'N 98°04'W. Max. capacity 176,000 acre-ft. Formed by Bald Hill Dam (33 ft/10 m), built by the Army Corps of Engineers for flood control and water supply. Valley City Federal Fish Hatchery below dam.
